　　可以这么记：规则的“撒谎”，不规则的“躺”。

　　例如：He always lies to his mother. 他总是对他妈妈撒谎。

　　He lied to his mother yesterday. 他昨天对他妈妈撒谎了。

　　He finally admitted that he had lied to his mother.他最终承认他对他妈妈撒谎了。

　　The cat lies by the fire every day. 这只猫整日卧在炉火旁。

　　The cat lay by the fire yesterday. 这只猫昨天卧在炉火旁。

　　The cat had lain by the fire all night. 这只猫整晚都卧在炉火旁。

　　2.lay可以是lie作为“躺”的意思时的过去式，也可以做动词原形，意为“放置，下蛋”，过去式和过去分词呈不规则变化。

　　可以这么记：过去的“躺”是现在的“放”。

　　例如：A hen lays eggs. 母鸡下蛋。

　　She laid the baby down gently on the bed. 她把婴儿轻轻地放在床上。 The hen had just laid an egg. 母鸡刚下了个蛋。
