　　在雅思听力答题之前，一定要弄清题目要求，如果题目中提到NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER，考生的答案一旦超过3个词或者1个数字，肯定要被扣分。

　　NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER 可以被理解为： ≦ 3个单词 + 1个数字，或者 ≦ 3个单词，或者只填写 1个数字。

　　1. 14th July = one number and one word

　　2. 28% = one number (the symbol "%" is not counted as a word.

　　3. 28 percent = one number and one word

　　4. Articles, like a/an/the are counted as one word.

　　5. All prepositions, such as "on""in""at" are counted as words.

　　6. Compound nouns written as one word are counted as on word, such as "blackboard", but some compound nouns which are written as two separate words are counted as two words, such as "book shop", "check list". "bookshop"or "checklist"is also right and is counted as one word.

　　7. Hyphenated words like "brother-in-law""door-to-door"are counted as one word.

　　关于雅思写作字数统计规则及建议：

　　1. You should aim to write at least 150 words and 250 words for Task 1 and Task 2 respectively. If you write under the word count, you will get a penalty. 150-180 and 250- 280 are the better choice for each task. Do not write too much. Quality is more important than quantity. You should focus on writing excellent English and organizing information effectively instead of writing a long essay.

　　雅思写作Task 1 和 Task 2字数要求分别不低于150 和250。如果字数不够，会被罚分。一般Task 1字数在150 -180，task 2 字数在250-280之间。切记不可写太多，在规定时间内完成任务，写作质量更重要。

　　2. If you copy the information given in the topics completely, the examiners will not count these words. It means your writing may be under the word count, and you will get a penalty. Please remember to paraphrase the instructions.

　　不要完全抄写题目，这些字数是不被统计在内的。避免因此字数不足而失分。可以利用改写的方式重新展开相关话题。

　　3. Do not count the number of words one by one, you can count the lines and the words for each line in general, which is a quicker way for you to estimate the word count.

　　不要一字一字数单词，比较浪费时间，只要数整行和每一行的平均字数即可。

　　4. There will be some special cases you may have also heard from your teachers in which one candidate write less than 150 words or 250 words, but he/she still gets a good score. Do not take this risk.

　　有些学生听到老师说少一些单词字数，影响不算大，但是这类型的例子还是个别的，不要冒险。

　　5. Try to practice your writing using the official writing answer sheet.

　　在练习写作任务的时候，可以使用官方写作答题纸，提前做字数统计的练习。
